Inspired by the poem,”The Dash” by Linda Ellis.
This beauty inspired me to create a custom pattern; a main paisley design, a different design on the first border followed by a repeating paisley. twenty-six, twenty-seven, twenty-eight
If you could see the whole piece, you’d see quilted outline of a tree and its leaves winding up the right edge of this quilted wall hanging.
As I pieced this, I was reminded of Lotus flowers and dense rainforests. Look close — you can see the rain on the flower.
With free-hand quilting, I let the piece tell me what to do. In this 70’s retro hexagon quilt, it said,’Big funky flowers and leaves.”
A timeless feather quilting pattern was the perfect complement to my client’s soft, feminine work of art.
